ABSTRACT
Formaldehyde is a colorless reactive chemical with suffocating and pungent odor. It is irritant to mucous membranes and can enter the body by either oral ingestion or inhalation. Formaldehyde is toxic to living tissue. In this report, we present the case of a 22-year-old woman who was treated with formaldehyde injection for a cystic mass of the neck with developing complications.
ÖZET
Formaldehit renksiz, boğucu ve hoş olmayan keskin kokuya sahip reaktif bir kimyasaldır. Mükoz membranlar için oldukça iritan olup vücuda geçişi oral yolla ya da inhalasyonla olabilir. Formaldehit canlı dokuya toksik etkilidir. Bu çalışmada, boyundaki kistik dokuya tedavi amaçlı formaldehit enjeksiyonu uygulanan 22 yaşındaki kadın hasta, ortaya çıkan komplikasyonlar ile sunuldu.
