ABSTRACT

Inverted papillomas represent approximately 0.5%–4% of all nasal tumors. The most common sites of localization are lateral nasal wall, middle meatus and middle turbinate. Rarely, inverted papilloma develops in inferior turbinate, nasal vestibule and nasal septum. The conventional treatment of inverted papilloma is surgical approach comprising procedures such as lateral rhinotomy, midfacial degloving, transantral Caldwell-Luc and transnasal sphenoethmoidectomy. Since the endoscopic approach has been introduced and applied routinely, it has become a treatment option for the inverted papilloma. In this study, we propose an inverted papilloma case originated from posterior nasal septum and treated successfully with endoscopic surgery.

ÖZET

İnverted papillomlar; tüm nazal tümörlerin %0.5-%4'ünü oluşturmaktadırlar. Sıklıkla lokalize oldukları yer lateral nazal duvar, orta konka ve orta meatustur. Ender olarak alt konka, nazal vestibulum ve nazal septumdan gelişirler. inverted papilloma olgularında tedavi cerrahidir. Geleneksel cerrahi yöntem olarak; lateral rinotomi, midfasiyal degloving, transantral Caldwell-Luc, transnazal sfenoetmoidektomi gibi prosedürler uygulanmaktadır. Endoskopik sinüs cerrahisinin rutin uygulamaya girmesinden sonra inverted papilloma tedavisinde kullanımı da yaygınlaşmıştır. Çalışmamızda; nazal septum posteriorundan kaynaklanan, endoskopik cerrahi ile başarılı bir şekilde tedavi edilen, inverted papilloma olgusu sunulmuştur.
