Sarcomatoid carcinomas are uncommon tumors of upper aerodigestive tract. We detected three patients with sarcomatoid carcinoma of the larynx and hypopharynx in our clinic. Cytokeratin were immunohistochemically positive in all patients and tumors were in advanced stage. Two of three patients were treated with combined therapy (surgery+radiotherapy), the other was treated only with radiotherapy. We presented our three patients with sarcomatoid carcinoma, analyzing the clinical-therapeutic aspects, histopathological features and prognostic factors.
ÖZET
Sarkomatoid karsinom üst aerodigestif sistemin nadir görülen bir tümörüdür. Biz kliniğimizde larenks ve hipofarenks yerleşimli üç sarkomatoid karsinomlu hasta tespit ettik. Sitokeratin im-munohistokimyasal olarak tüm hastalarda pozitif olup, tümörler ileri evredeydi. Üç hastanın ikisi kombine tedavi (cerra-hi+radyoterapi) ile, diğer hasta ise sadece radyoterapi ile tedavi edildi. Üç sarkomatoid karsinomlu hastamızı klinik ve tedavi yaklaşımları, histopatolojik görünümleri ve prognostik faktörleri değerlendirerek sunduk.
