Reconstruction of the frontal sinus bone defect with rib graft was performed in two patients in our clinic during last threeyears period. The first case had a giant frontal sinus osteoma extended upward to the medial and superior wall of the left orbital cavity and eroded entire anterior wall of the left frontal sinus. In the second case, there were bone deformities in the frontal sinus and nose following motor vehicle accident and the patient’s forehead and nasion were collapsed. We repaired both using split costal bone grafts with a nicely countered external surface with no donor site morbidity. Split costal bone grafts appear to be appropriate autogenic materials for restoration of frontal and maxillofacial bone deformities.
ÖZET
Kliniğimizde son üç yıllık süre içerisinde iki hastada kosta gref-ti ile frontal sinüs kemik defekti rekonstrüksiyonu yapıldı. ilk olguda sol frontal sinüsün anterior duvarını tümüyle erode ederek, sol orbital kavitenin medial ve süperior duvarına uzanan dev frontal sinüs osteomu vardı. ikinci olguda, motorlu araç kazasını takiben frontal sinüs ve burun deformitesi vardı ve bu nedenle hastanın alnı ve nazionu çökmüştü. Her iki olguyu uzunlamasına ortadan ayrılmış kostal kemik grefti ile onardık. Dış yüzeyde düzgün kontur sağlandı ve donor sahada problem gözlenmedi. ikiye ayrılmış kostal kemik greft, frontal ve maksil-lofasyal kemik deformitelerinde uygun bir otojen materyal olarak kullanılabilir.
