Objectives:

To identify the responsible allergens in patients with allergic rhinitis and contribute to the establishment the map of allergen distribution in Bal›kesir region of Turkey.

Methods:

Skin prick test results were assessed according to allergen variety and prevalence in the 80 patients who have allergic rhinitis between 2006 and 2008.

Results:

69 of 80 (86.2%) patients, who applied skin prick test, were reactive at least one allergen. Prick test positivity was most frequent in 20-29 (31.9%) age group. The most common allergens were trees pollens in 55 (79.7%) patients and in 48 patients (69.6%) weeds pollens. In sequence mites (56.5%), cereal pollens (55.1%) and grass pollens (53.6%) were common allergens. The least positivity was mold (18.8%).

Conclusion:

The most common allergens in patients with allergic rhinitis in Bal›kesir region were trees and weed pollens.

ÖZET

Amaç:

Balıkesir yöresindeki alerjik rinitli hastalarda sorumlu alerjenlerin saptanması ve bu bölgeye ait alerji haritasının oluşturulmasına katkıda bulunmak.

Yöntem:

2006-2008 yılları arasında alerjik rinit şikayetleri ile başvuran 80 hastaya prick testi uygulanmış, sorumlu alerjen çeşidi ve sıklığı hesaplanmıştır.

Bulgular:

Prick testi uygulanan 80 hastanın 69'unda (%86.2) en az bir alerjene karşı pozitif yanıt saptanmıştır. Alerjen duyarlığı en fazla 20-29 (%31.9) yaşları arasında görülmüştür. En fazla pozitiflik 55 hasta ile (%79.7) ağaç polenleri, 48 hasta ile (%69.6) yabani ot polenlerine karşı saptanmıştır. Bunları akarlar (%56.5), hububat polenleri (%55.1) ve çim polenleri (%53.6) takip etmektedir. En az pozitif yanıt alınan alerjen ise mantarlardır (%18.8).

Sonuç:

Balıkesir bölgesinde alerjik rinitli hastalarda "ağaç" ve "yabani ot polenleri" en sık saptanan alerjenlerdir.
