Diabetes mellitus is a multisystem disease which mainly affects carbohydrate, lipid and protein metabolisms. Long-term complications of this disease in blood vessels, kidneys, eyes and nerves are the major causes of morbidity and mortality. In this study we tried to demonstrate histopathological alterations in the oral mucosa of diabetic rats.
ÖZET
Diabet vücuttaki pek çok sistemi etkileyen karbonhidrat, lipid ve protein metabolizması ile ilgili bir rahatsızlıktır. Vasküler sistem başta olmak üzere böbrekler, gözler ve sinirler üzerindeki uzun dönem etkileri başlıca morbidite ve mortalite sebepleridir. Biz bu çalışmamızda diabetik sıçanların ağız mukozasında meydana gelen histopatolojik değişiklikleri göstermek istedik.
