Mucocele is slow-growing and locally aggressive lesion of the paranasal sinuses. Mucoceles of the paranasal sinuses most commonly occur in the frontal, and ethmoidal sinuses. A gradually enlarging lesion results in destruction of the wall of the sinus and extends to the encircling anatomic structures. Symptoms have a connection with this expansive lesion are generally secondary to its pressure effect on neighbouring structures. In this paper, reported that the case of mucocele infiltrate to orbita and frontal lobe. Both the differential diagnosis and the surgical treatment options are presented, and the literature is reviewed.

ÖZET

Mukosel paranazal sinüslerin yavaş büyüyen ve lokal olarak agresif seyreden bir lezyonudur. Paranazal sinüs mukoselleri en sık frontal ve etmoid sinüslerden kaynaklanırlar. Progresif olarak çevreye doğru büyüyen bu lezyonlar kemik duvarda destrüksiyona yol açarak komşu anatomik yapılara uzanabilir. Semptomlar genellikle büyüyen bu kitlenin çevre dokulara yaptığı basıya bağlıdır. Bu yazıda orbita ve ön kafa tabanına ulaşan dev bir frontal mukosel olgusu sunulmuştur. Hastalığın hem ayırıcı tanısı hem de cerrahi tedavi seçenekleri sunulmuş ve literatür gözden geçirilmiştir.
