Tracheotomy is a well-known procedure for ages which is a stoma between skin and trachea to make by-pass the rest of the upper airway and to provide a safer breath. Common indications are situations like upper airway obstructions and to clear respiratory secretions during the elongated entubation or to decrease the inactive airway. We present a case of a rare indication for tracheostomy, an aspirated foreign body inside the larynx.
ÖZET
Trakeotomi yüzyıllardır bilinen ve trakeadan boyun cildine açılan delik ile üst solunum yolunun by-pass edildiği ve daha emniyetli bir solunum yolunun sağlandığı cerrahi işlemdir. Sık endikasyonları arasında üst solunum yollarında darlığa neden olabilecek durumlar ve uzamış entübasyonda akciğer sekresyonlarının temizlenmesi ve ölü havayolu boşluğunun azalması sayılabilir. Bu sunumda trakeotominin nadir bir endikasyonu olan yabancı cisim aspirasyonlu bir vaka takdim ediyoruz.
